In short
Responsive and TenderRender both use AI to draft answers from your own knowledge, but they are aimed at different work. Responsive, according to its website, is a strategic response management platform for sales and proposal teams answering RFPs, security questionnaires and buyer questions, with AI agents, a content library guided by subject matter experts and a TRACE Score that checks whether every part of a question is answered. TenderRender is built around the public tender: it reads the tender pack with a source citation for every answer, proposes clarification questions, writes each answer from your own bid library to the award criteria, fills in forms such as the ESPD and scores your draft before submission. Choose Responsive if you run a large response operation across many teams and request types. Choose TenderRender if public tenders with weighted award criteria are your main work.
This comparison is published by TenderRender; we make one of the tools discussed. It is based on publicly available information checked on 6 October 2026. It is not an independent test.
What does Responsive do?
Responsive calls itself AI RFP software and positions its platform as strategic response management. According to its website, it offers:
- AI that drafts answers from your best content, guided by subject matter experts, for RFPs, questionnaires and assessments.
- AI agents across the pursuit lifecycle, which Responsive describes as digital specialists working alongside human experts.
- TRACE Score, which tells you whether an answer covers every part of a multi-part question, so you can bring in an expert to fill the gap.
- Collaborative workflows for bid and proposal managers, sales teams and other contributors.
- A broad set of native integrations with the tools teams already use.
Responsive is built for organisations where many departments contribute to responses and the same company, security and compliance questions return often. For that kind of operation, central content and workflow control prevent a lot of duplicate work.
What does TenderRender do?
TenderRender follows a tender from documents to submission:
- Analyse. The AI reads the tender pack and answers your questions, with a citation that opens the right page.
- Clarification questions. TenderRender proposes questions for unclear or contradictory points, with its reasoning. We test these internally against real clarification rounds.
- Submission list. A list per phase of everything you need to submit.
- Write. After a few targeted questions, the AI writes each answer from your own library, in your own style, to this buyer's award criteria. Colours show where each passage comes from.
- Forms. The ESPD and other forms are filled in with your company details. Anything it cannot support stays open.
- Review. A score per award criterion with specific points to improve.
TenderRender also finds tenders in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with an AI match score from 1 to 5 and a daily email. It is ISO 27001 certified, stores data in the EU and does not train on customer data.

Who is each tool for?
Responsive suits you if you run a large response team, many contributors own content, and you answer RFPs, security questionnaires and due diligence requests at volume.
TenderRender suits you if you are an SME or a bid team in a larger organisation and most of your work is public tenders, where the score depends on how well each answer meets this buyer's award criteria.
Still unsure? Look at what costs you points. If it is outdated or inconsistent standard answers, a central library helps most. If it is answers that sound fine but miss part of the criterion, you need review against the award criteria.
How should you test both?
Take one tender you have already submitted and scored. Give both tools the same documents and past responses, and compare the first drafts blind. Check which tool found every requirement, which answers you can trace back to a source, how much editing was needed before submission, and whether the review flagged the weaknesses the evaluators marked down.
Frequently asked questions
Is TenderRender an alternative to Responsive?
For teams that mainly respond to public tenders with award criteria, yes: it covers analysis, clarification questions, writing, forms and review. For large organisations answering many request types across departments, Responsive's content management and workflows are built for that.
What is the difference between TRACE Score and TenderRender's review?
According to Responsive, TRACE Score checks whether an answer covers every part of a question. TenderRender's review scores your draft against the tender's award criteria and suggests specific improvements. The useful test is which one finds the weaknesses your evaluators would find.
Does Responsive fill in the ESPD?
We could not find ESPD or form filling in Responsive's public product information. Check the current position with Responsive.
Can TenderRender handle commercial RFPs?
Yes. The same analysis, writing and review workflow works for document-based commercial requests, although the search feature is for public tenders.
Is this comparison independent?
No. It is written by TenderRender and compares use cases based on public information. Test both tools on a tender you know.
