In short
AutogenAI and TenderRender both use AI to help you write better bids, but they suit different teams. AutogenAI, according to its website, builds each customer a custom language engine in the company's tone of voice and covers qualifying, research, writing and review, with strong change management for large enterprise bid teams and a separate SME offering. TenderRender is built around the public tender itself: it reads the tender documents with a source citation for every answer, proposes clarification questions, writes each answer from your own bid library in your own style, fills in forms such as the ESPD and scores your draft against the award criteria. Choose AutogenAI if you run a large, multi-team bid operation that wants a tailored language model and guided rollout. Choose TenderRender if you want a focused tool that takes a tender from documents to a reviewed response quickly.
This comparison is published by TenderRender; we make one of the tools discussed. It is based on publicly available information checked on 6 October 2026. It is not an independent test.
What does AutogenAI do?
AutogenAI describes itself as AI bid writing software for businesses, developed by AI engineers, proposal and grant writers and linguistic experts. According to its website, the platform is split into modules:
- Qualify and Extract for assessing opportunities and pulling information from the tender pack.
- Research for gathering evidence and context.
- Write, built on what AutogenAI calls a custom language engine for each customer, equipped with the brand's tone of voice.
- Review for checking and improving drafts.
- Manage and Integrations for running the work across teams and existing tools.
AutogenAI says it is trusted by more than 300 enterprise businesses, offers solutions for enterprise, SMEs and grant writing, and puts weight on change management and customer success to drive adoption. For a large organisation with many bid writers, that guided rollout is a real advantage.
What does TenderRender do?
TenderRender starts from the tender documents and follows the work through to submission:
- Analyse. The AI reads the tender pack and answers your questions, with a citation that opens the right page.
- Clarification questions. TenderRender proposes questions for unclear or contradictory points, with its reasoning. We test these internally against real clarification rounds.
- Submission list. A list per phase of everything you need to submit.
- Write. After a few targeted questions, the AI writes each answer from your own library, in your own style. Colours show where each passage comes from, so you can check it.
- Forms. The ESPD and other forms are filled in with your company details. Anything it cannot support stays open for you.
- Review. A score per award criterion with specific points to improve, before you submit.
TenderRender also finds tenders in the Netherlands (TenderNed), Belgium (BOSA e-Procurement) and Germany, with an AI match score from 1 to 5 and a daily email. It is ISO 27001 certified, stores data in the EU and does not train on customer data.

Who is each tool for?
AutogenAI suits you if you run a large bid function across several teams or countries, write grants as well as tenders, and want a vendor that helps you roll AI out across the organisation.
TenderRender suits you if you are an SME or a bid team inside a larger organisation, you respond to public tenders with weighted award criteria, and you want analysis, writing, forms and review in one place without a long implementation.
Still unsure? Look at where you lose most time. If it is getting dozens of writers to use AI consistently, that is an adoption problem. If it is turning a 100-page tender pack into a compliant, high-scoring response, that is a tender problem.
How should you test both?
Take one real tender you have already submitted and scored. Give both tools the same documents and the same past responses. Then compare:
- did the tool find every award criterion and requirement, including those buried in annexes;
- can you trace each claim back to a source;
- how much editing the first draft needed before it was submittable;
- whether the review spotted the weaknesses the evaluators later marked down.
The tool that leaves your bid manager with the least rework is the right one, whatever the feature list says.
Frequently asked questions
Is TenderRender an alternative to AutogenAI?
For teams that respond to public tenders and want analysis, writing, forms and review in one tool, yes. For large organisations that mainly want a custom language engine rolled out across many proposal and grant teams, AutogenAI is built for that.
Does AutogenAI fill in the ESPD?
We could not find ESPD or form filling in AutogenAI's public product information. Check the current position with AutogenAI.
Does TenderRender write in our own style?
Yes. It writes from your own library of past bids and asks targeted questions when information is missing. Colours show which source each passage comes from.
Do I still need a bid writer?
Yes. Both tools produce drafts. Someone with authority still has to check facts, evidence and commercial choices before submission.
Is this comparison independent?
No. It is written by TenderRender and compares use cases based on public information. Test both tools on a tender you know.
