How Novon keeps control of the tender process with TenderRender
With more than 2,000 employees and locations across the northeast of the Netherlands, Novon is one of the larger cleaning companies in the country. From daily office cleaning to specialist cleaning and window cleaning, the company works for dozens of clients in sectors such as education, healthcare and government. That also means a steady flow of European tenders for Novon’s bid team.
Eline Schoorlemmer, Tender and Marketing Manager at Novon, knows the challenge well. With every new tender, she has to decide quickly: should we bid or not? The tender documents are extensive, requirements are spread across appendices and reference requirements are specific. "When a new tender comes in, you want to scan it quickly and understand the highlights," Eline says. "Do we meet the reference requirements? What are the suitability requirements? That first check is crucial for us." She found that speed in TenderRender.
From stacks of documents to immediate overviews
Eline uses TenderRender daily, and the analysis function is her fixed starting point. As soon as a new tender comes in, the team runs an analysis and immediately sees what is being requested, which requirements apply and whether submitting a bid is realistic. "We have really turned it into a kind of kick-off meeting," Eline explains. "A complete start-up document comes out of it, including planning. That helps us reach a go/no-go decision much faster."
Where the analysis function is the starting point, the library is the backbone of Eline’s writing process. Over the years, Novon has submitted hundreds of bids and built up a wealth of previously written content. "If I know we once wrote a very strong section about a DKS inspection, I can search through the library and immediately see which earlier tenders included that topic," Eline says. "And what is also useful: you immediately see how those texts were assessed at the time."
The foundation is ready faster, so the focus moves to differentiation
For Eline, the biggest gain is that TenderRender collects and structures the base texts. "It helps us especially in that early phase," she says. "It saves time reading through all tender documents and finding the right information immediately."
That lets the team invest the time it frees up in what really matters in tenders: differentiation. The story that shows why Novon is the best choice for a contracting authority.
A platform that grows with the customer
What stands out to Eline is how TenderRender keeps developing based on what users need. "Even during onboarding, you took our wishes into account," she says. "And it is great to see how that keeps being processed into the platform." From new folder structures in the library to improved document processing, the product grows with the way Novon actually uses it.
Would she recommend TenderRender to another bid manager at another company, even in a different sector? "Yes, definitely," Eline says without hesitation. "It really is a useful tool in the tender world. For the foundation of a tender, to quickly get extra support. That makes the difference."
