In short
The best alternative to TenderFlow depends on whether you want to find more tenders or write better bids. For writing and reviewing bids with AI, with a source citation for every statement, clarification questions and completed standard forms, TenderRender is the right choice. For AI-assisted search and go/no-go recommendations, look at Vergabepilot, Tender Republic, Patterno, BidFix or DTAD.

What is TenderFlow?
TenderFlow is an AI platform for public tenders in Germany, made by TenderFlow GmbH in Paderborn and founded by Lars Lammers and Tobias Graf. According to its website, the platform has been live since February 2026.
TenderFlow describes its process in three steps:
- Receive matches: every day, the platform searches procurement portals such as TED (the EU's tender journal), evergabe.de, DTVP and Vergabemarktplatz NRW, and matches the procedures against your competence profile.
- Decide whether to bid: each procedure gets an AI score, a suitability check and a clear recommendation on whether bidding is worthwhile.
- Submit the bid: bids are built from your own templates. TenderFlow brings deadlines, evidence and requirements together in one place.
Its target group is small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to win public contracts without building their own bid or sales department. The launch press release focused on IT companies; TenderFlow now names several sectors, including consulting, construction and healthcare.
Please note: there are other, unrelated products called "Tenderflow" in English-speaking markets. This article is about the German platform at tenderflow.de.
Why do companies look for an alternative to TenderFlow?
Anyone looking for a TenderFlow alternative is usually facing one of these questions:
- Do I need more help finding tenders or writing bids? TenderFlow focuses on matching and the recommendation to bid. If your bottleneck is the written concepts (Konzepte), the specification (Leistungsbeschreibung) and the answers to the award criteria, you need a tool that focuses more on bid writing.
- How good are the matches for my sector? With search platforms, it pays to compare two or three vendors directly on real procedures from your own market.
- How traceable are the results? If you write bids with AI, you need to be able to check every statement. That argues for tools that cite their sources.
What are the alternatives to TenderFlow?
1. TenderRender: write bids and review them before submission
TenderRender steps in where most of the work begins: after the decision to bid. The software analyses the Vergabeunterlagen (tender documents) and gathers the required documents for each phase into a checklist. It proposes Bieterfragen (clarification questions to the contracting authority), each with its reasoning, for example where the specification and the appendices contradict each other. Written concepts are drafted from your own library of past bids and company information, and the AI fills in standard forms (Formblätter) in Word and PDF with verified data. Anything missing comes back to you as an open question.
Every statement has a source citation that opens the document at the right place. Before submission, TenderRender checks your text against the scoring method and the award criteria in the tender documents and shows where you are losing points. You can also search German tenders in TenderRender. TenderRender is ISO 27001 certified, GDPR compliant and does not train on your data.
Who it suits: teams that already find their tenders, for example with an existing search tool, and want to save time on concepts, clarification questions, forms and quality review.
2. Vergabepilot: an AI search engine for German tenders
Vergabepilot.AI brings together tenders from German procurement portals in a semantic search. The AI summarises procedures, an AI assistant answers questions about the documents, and its own bidder checklist with point scores structures the go/no-go decision. Search profiles report new matches automatically.
Who it suits: companies looking for mature search with structured pre-qualification.
3. Tender Republic: profile-based search with a KO Check
Tender Republic, based in the Munich area, finds contracts based on a company profile and rates every match with an explanation. A KO Check tests the exclusion criteria, a document chat answers questions with a reference to where the answer was found, and an Angebots Assistent (bid assistant) helps pre-fill forms from a knowledge base. Set-up is done together with the customer.
Who it suits: mid-sized businesses, for example in construction, IT and consulting, that value a guided rollout.
4. Patterno: search, analysis and a view of the market
Patterno, by its own account, brings together tenders from portals in Germany and Europe, rates them against your company profile and turns tender documents into a compact briefing. Bid documents are created through an AI chat, and Patterno also shows who has won which contracts.
Who it suits: companies that want to combine search with competitor analysis.
5. BidFix: a platform from first signal to contract award
BidFix lists tender search, criteria analysis, a knowledge base, AI concept drafts with source citations from your own documents, and filling in Excel, PDF and Word documents.
Who it suits: teams that want to run search and bid writing in one system.
6. DTAD: traditional tender research
DTAD offers research into national and EU-wide tenders through search profiles and filters, with notifications and analyses of buyers' procurement behaviour and potential bidders.
Who it suits: companies that need broad research across many sectors and regions.

How to choose the right alternative
Measure where your hours go. For your next two procedures, note how much time goes into searching, reading, writing, forms and internal coordination. The result shows which kind of tool will help you most.
Compare search platforms on real cases. Have two vendors search the same criteria for your sector and compare matches and false alarms over a few weeks. In practice, each tool finds some tenders the other one does not show.
Test bid writing on a completed procedure. Does the tool pick up all the award criteria? How does it handle standard forms, self-declarations (Eigenerklärungen) and price sheets? Can you trace every statement back to its source?
Ask about data protection. Server location, certifications and how your data is handled belong in every demo.
Think in combinations. A search platform plus a tool for writing and review often work better together than one system that only partly covers both.
